Software Links
-
Steve Baum's Linux Software Encyclopedia. An exhaustive collection
of links to freely available scientific and non-scientific software
that can be run on Linux (and most Unix) systems.
- NETLIB A comprehensive
collection of computational routines.
- The
Mathworks. Here you will find programs written by users of Matlab
supplementing those already provided by Mathworks.
- Rich
Signell. This page contains a great deal of information and links
to codes
that are useful for coastal and estuarine modeling.
- DeCSS. A link to
the DeCSS program which is very useful.
Homegrown Software
Within this little section you will (eventually) find some oddments of
computer code that we have written. If you're extremely lucky you might
find them as useful and amusing as we did. All code contained here is
provided as is and is distributed under the Gnu Public License and is
copyrighted by
various and sundry members of this group.
- A simple coagulation
model. A simple model of a single algal cell growing at a
constant specific growth, coagulation, and settling. The program is
written in
matlab.
- A simple inverse food-web
model. A simple inverse food-web model using Excel
and Matlab.
- A model of the vertical
particle
flux, in which stratified predator-prey interactions affect the
vertical
particle flux. The result is discussed in a paper by Jackson
and Burd. The program is written in matlab. To run it,
open
matlab, go to the directory with the script, and invoke it by typing
vertical_pred_prey. The parameters
are set in the
first part of the code, with descriptions of their units. You can
change
their values in the file.
